    There are maybe three great pieces of short writing to come out of the Civil War. The Gettysburg Address, the Second Inaugural and the The Battle Hymn of the Republic (aka, that song they play during the “Swinging Gates” formation). The Battle Hymn was also written on November 19, 1861.
